jackd and ardour slack-12.2 and ulimit

Hi all

Runnning jackd wit the following command
setcap cap_ipc_lock,cap_sys_nice=+ep /usr/bin/jackd
This seems to work fine so far.

When i start ardour it gives the following message
Your system has a limit for maximum amount of locked memory.
it is normally controlled by /etc/security/limits.conf.

ulimit -l gives 64 this must probably be unlimited.

How do i do that i tried it in /etc/profile also tried uncomment ulimit
in /etc/login.defs both without success.

can somebody put me in the right direction?

I had a similar problem with a program which requires more resources.

I haven't checked if this is still true for Slack 12.2, but this was the
case for Slackware 12.0
