Seamonkey 2.53 doesn't work on my 32 bit system. I think because package
seamonkey-solibs-2.40-i586-1.txz has no update.

seamonkey

Don't try to mix slackware-14.2 and slackware-current. Choose one or
the other.

I am not trying to mix them. I used these commands:

slackpkg update
slackpkg install-new
slackpkg upgrade-all

Ah, OK. You may have found a bug in slackware-14.2 (which I don't
use). I am not sure what depends on seamonkey-solibs in slackware-14.2
nowadays (slackware-current no longer ships it) but you could try
removing it. Also, check that you don't have two versions of seamonkey
installed, both version 2.40 and version 2.53.

Also try running 'slackpkg clean-system'.

Ah, the ChangeLog has this in it:

Mon Mar 2 19:05:10 UTC 2020
patches/packages/seamonkey-2.53.1-x86_64-1_slack14.2.txz: Upgraded.
This update contains security fixes and improvements.
For more information, see:
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.53.1
(* Security fix *)
patches/packages/seamonkey-solibs-2.49.5-x86_64-2_slack14.2.txz: Removed.

So seamonkey-solibs has been removed. 'slackpkg clean-system' should
pick this up.

So seamonkey-solibs has been removed. 'slackpkg clean-system' should
pick this up.
Just remove the solibs package, 'slackpkg clean-system' removes
everything you added yourself, like SBo packages etc.
It was never necessary to install both seamonkey and seamonkey-solibs,
all of seamonkey-solibs is included in seamonkey.
