I am having trouble installing 14.2 64-bit Slackware on my new desktop.
I can use the setup program to set swap and define my partitions, but
when I try installing packages, the program tries to define /dev/hdx devices
and does not install packages to my partitions. It keeps wanting me to
insert new disks.
Is your HDD setting in bios for IDE drives? Set the drives to AHCI
so they are set for sata drives.
Where do I find the HDD setting? I'll have to get sighted help adventuring in BIOS.
Mike! I have a idea, if you want to play along I need the make and model
of your computer, that information is sometimes on the bottom or side of
your computer, the more information you can give me the better.
With that information I will somehow find what we need to know, and who
knows your computer maybe the same as one of the many I own, but I will
somehow get the information we need to help you install Slackware64 14.2.
All the best,
